In August 2025, Bonaire recorded 14,435 overnight visitors, marking a notable 15.6% rise from the 12,483 visitors observed in August 2024. The Netherlands remained the dominant source market, contributing 42.9% of all arrivals with 6,192 visitors. The United States followed as the second-largest market, accounting for 30.9% of traffic with 4,459 visitors. Other key contributing markets included Curaçao, Germany, Aruba, Belgium, Colombia, Canada, Brazil, Italy, and the United Kingdom, collectively enriching the island's diverse visitor profile.

Delving deeper into the United States market, analysis revealed that the majority of American travelers visited with a partner, while solo travelers represented the next largest group. Leisure trips were the primary motivation for 48.3% of U.S. visitors, with diving holidays closely behind at 39%. Accommodation preferences among American tourists primarily favored hotels (56.8%), followed by villas (11.4%), apartments (6.5%), private property stays (6.2%), and visits with relatives (3.1%). The leading states of origin for these travelers were New York, Florida, California, Texas, and Pennsylvania. In terms of age demographics, visitors aged 55-64 constituted 20.9% of the U.S. segment, with those aged 45-54 making up 20.7%.

Conversely, Dutch travelers frequently visited with children, with solo travelers forming the subsequent largest group. Vacation was the overwhelming purpose for 71.4% of Dutch visitors, while visiting friends and relatives accounted for 8.2%. Hotels were the preferred lodging choice for 49.3% of Dutch tourists, followed by apartments (15.5%), stays with relatives (9.2%), villas (7.2%), and private property stays (4.2%). The primary provincial origins in the Netherlands included South Holland, North Holland, Gelderland, Utrecht, and North Brabant. The most prevalent age groups among Dutch visitors were 45-54 (19.4%) and 18-24 (16.3%). These preliminary August figures underscore the consistent and robust international interest from both European and North American travelers, solidifying Bonaire's growing stature in the global tourism landscape.
